Dream has become a household name for anyone remotely interested in Minecraft. And is one of the most popular Minecraft YouTubers. In just a few years, he's achieved feats that not even the most seasoned Minecraft creators could have imagined. It all started with his video in which he searched for PewDiePie's Minecraft world seed, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since then, Dream has shown no signs of stopping. His speed runs alone have made him a superstar in the Minecraft YouTube community, so much so that when he revealed his face, it nearly broke the internet.
Dream has done a lot of content on his channel, but his speedruns and SMP were by far the most popular. So when the Dream SMP ended, everyone knew that Dream would be back with something bigger and better.
But what else could Dream do that hadn't been done before? It's just vanilla Minecraft, after all.
⠀
Well, it turns out that Dream had something revolutionary up his sleeve. He announced that he will be starting a new SMP called Dream United, and it's going to be massive! With over 60 players from across the globe, it's going to be one of the biggest SMPs in YouTube and Twitch history. And that's not even the best part of the announcement.
Dream will be inviting only 10 English-speaking creators on the SMP. The rest will be native Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, German, and French speakers! This is a fantastic opportunity to connect and expand their reach as they interact with other creators.
But wait, how will they communicate with each other, prank each other, and do all the shenanigans Dream is famous for?
Fear not, my fellow Minecrafters, because Dream has created a groundbreaking mod that shatters the language barrier. This will enable everyone to openly take part in interactions with one another.
You see, all these people might be speaking different languages, but at the end of the day, they're all human, just like you, me, and Dream. The only thing that separates a goofy English Minecraft YouTuber from a Korean one is their language. So Dream decided to create the first live translation mod, which allows for vocal chat and interaction among players of various language backgrounds!
>
This mod allows native speakers to speak in their language of choice, and it's instantly translated into English and displayed on the screen! It's revolutionary tech because you're no longer limited to who you can play with, and that's the whole idea behind this SMP.
At launch, Dream's United SMP server and the mod will officially support the following languages:
English
Spanish
Portuguese
French
German
Korean
While the United SMP is initially set to support just six languages upon its launch, the possibilities for extending its reach are limitless. In Dream's official video, both Hindi and Japanese – two widely spoken languages – were showcased, even though they were not part of the official language lineup. However, there is no definitive information about their eventual inclusion.
Since Dream intends to make the mod available as an open-source project, it's likely that a multitude of other languages will be incorporated in the near future. Of course, this can only transpire following the official debut of the Minecraft translator mod.
By making this mod open-source, Dream is opening the doors for global connections and fostering a more inclusive gaming environment. Players from all over the world will be able to communicate, interact, and enjoy Minecraft together without being held back by language barriers.
This innovation has the potential to revolutionize not only Minecraft servers but also the entire gaming community. Just imagine the possibilities of breaking down language barriers across various games, allowing players to form new friendships and participate in unique experiences. The live translation mod is truly a game-changer, and Dream United is just the beginning.
If you're a fan of Minecraft and follow English creators, you might not know how massive Minecraft is in other non-English-speaking parts of the world. Especially in Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries, there are multiple Minecraft YouTubers with 20 million+ subs that you might not have even heard of before.
But Dream knows this. He's already conquered everything there is to do in English Minecraft, and the man literally is a consultant for the development of Minecraft, for crying out loud. He knows how big this will be.
⠀
So, apparently there will be 60 different YouTubers from all around the world, which means we'll get to witness some epic cross-language collaborations. And to keep things spicy, there will be a leaderboard that tracks who's killing it on the server. I mean, who doesn't love a bit of healthy competition, right?
As for the games that will be played, well, we're in the dark on that one. It's like a surprise party, but instead of balloons and cake, we get to watch gamers dominate in their element. The logo for the server, which was shared by Dream on his Twitter, shows a couple of Minecraft characters building a globe that's shaped like an egg. I'm not sure what it means, but it's pretty egg-citing nonetheless.

Now, on to the mod. There's not much information on it apart from the fact that it's in the works and will be ready soon. Dream is keeping his cards close to his chest on this one. If you want to get a glimpse of what it might look like, you can check out his latest video where he plays Minecraft with creators from all around the world. The auto-translate feature can be a bit wonky at times, but that just adds to the hilarity of it all.
Based on the information provided in the official video, the exclusive United SMP server for creators is scheduled for release later this month (April 2023). Nevertheless, there hasn't been any announcement regarding the public availability of the translator mod. Considering the extensive and comprehensive nature of this project, there's no room for errors.
Upon its eventual release, Dream guarantees a near error-free and all-inclusive experience. Furthermore, the translator mod will be accessible as an open-source project, allowing other emerging Minecraft servers to potentially integrate it.
In line with other popular Minecraft modpacks, Dream's translator mod will be entirely free for all users. However, due to the mod's reliance on several third-party APIs, you may need to undertake some manual configuration on your side. This extra setup could be associated with an additional cost or might not entail any expenses.
And that's pretty much all we know about the upcoming SMP. Are you excited for it? I know I am!
